First Year Insight Schemes

We run two insight schemes over the spring and summer, and each is packed with legal case studies, interactive workshops, presentations, and networking opportunities.

You'll come away with a clear picture of our culture and values, as well as a good understanding of the day-to-day work of a trainee.

It’s an ideal opportunity to ask us any questions, soak up application advice for a vacation scheme, get to grips with the assessment day process, and start growing your personal network. You’ll grow your understanding of exactly what we do and the clients we work with and learn practical tips on how to gain commercial awareness. Whether you’re a law or non-law student, these insight schemes will show you how we are defined by difference.

We allocate 50 places to each scheme, and you’ll be able to pick the scheme you wish to attend. We allocate all places on a first come, first served basis.

Yes. You won’t have to complete the Watson Glaser test as part of your vacation scheme application.

Yes, there are no restrictions to reapply to the firm.

  • We use the Watson-Glaser critical thinking test.
  • The online critical thinking tests assess how well you can absorb and analyse information.
  • They measure your ability to evaluate arguments, deductions, inferences, and conclusions.
  • They're good predictors of success in roles where you need to see things clearly from many angles and separate facts from assumptions.
  • To get a feel for the intellectual demands you'll experience from day one, you can take our practice test.
  • Be sure to read the feedback you receive as it will help you with the formal assessments.

Yes.  We often invite candidates to take the Watson Glaser test and we screen candidates’ applications before the application deadline. We therefore, encourage applicants to apply to us as early as possible, but only after you have had enough time to thoroughly research the firm.
